April 30th & May 1st, 2024

Modeling and simulation (ModSim) has become an indispensable component across various industries, facilitating rapid and efficient design space exploration and testing. A plethora of tools, both commercial and open-source, cater to fields like automotive engineering, fluid dynamics research, and computer architecture development. Notably, open-source tools such as Gem5, Structural Simulation Toolkit (SST), FireSim, among others, have gained significant traction within the ModSim community, boasting substantial user bases. The Laboratory for Physical Science (LPS) takes pride in hosting the ModSim community at the 2024 LPS ModSim Workshop. This event aims to showcase cutting-edge open-source ModSim tools, recent research advancements, and potential applications. Furthermore, we are initiating discussions on establishing a member and community-driven governing body. This body will focus on the ongoing development, maintenance, and support of select open-source ModSim tools, ensuring their continued vitality and relevance within the community.

Hotel Information

The LPS ModSim Workshop does not have a reserved hotel block for attendees. There are several reasonable hotels within close proximity to the Baltimore International Airport (BWI) and FANX. These accommodations are approximately 6.1 mi from the workshop location and approximately 1 mi from BWI parking and or rental vehicle return.

Travel and Transportation

Unfortunately the MARC station is approximately 5 mi away from the workshop location making it infeasible for many. This leaves personal vehicle, taxi, and ride share options as the best option for travel to the workshop location. Coming from BWI airport or the FANX area, the driving directions are quite simple and are shown below. Upon arrival the parking lot is first come first serve with no reserved spots.
